Overview of Idea

The Blank Canvas will redevelop and re-ignite a sense of community in Delaware by providing a space where anyone and everyone can express their creativity. We will have three main components of our space to foster creativity and community: a studio/workspace, a café, and a performance venue.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

Five thousand dollars will fund three events before the year is out.

We want to have a pop-up coworking space in Newark, DE to increase our presence in the community and provide a glimpse into the services we wish to provide once we have a more permanent space. We’d also like to initiate a mural to be made in Wilmington, DE, although the location has yet to be determined. And our final event would be a showcase of local talents in Delaware, much like the previous two events that our organization has done. This event will allow local artists, crafters, artisans, etc. to show their works to the public, and we’d provide live entertainment with some brilliant, talented musicians as well.
