Overview of Idea

JUNTOS('together' in Spanish) is dedicated to outreach through the arts, specifically dance, both locally and abroad. JUNTOS brings workshops and performances to communities that rarely encounter modern dance. JUNTOS trips also help students discover their responsibility as artists and human beings.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

These funds would be distributed to help cover costs for our four annual trips: Guatemala in January and March, Mexico in May, and Costa Rica/Nicaragua in August. JUNTOS trips are currently open to students from Fordham University/The Ailey School, Juilliard, SUNY Purchase, and LINES/Dominican University.

This $5000 would also ensure that JUNTOS Collective could continue our work which has been well-received and also found to be necessary. Dance has the power to heal, liberate, and break boundaries. This project brings hope for the future.

JUNTOS plans to nurture the relationships we’ve built over the past years and continue establishing new ones. JUNTOS bridges people together from all different backgrounds and creates community!
