Overview of Idea

A traveling art studio, creative classroom, and unique exhibition space housed inside of a repurposed box-truck aims to bring workshops, public art projects, and interactive exhibitions to the public. The ArtMobile will provide greater access and art exposure to underserved youth and the community.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

The $5,000 grant will go towards procurement/build-out of a used box-truck. Since founding the Art Over Wheels Project, a pilot program has been established and activities are being provided to Baltimore City elementary schools and in the community.

I currently provide FREE (on-location) hands-on workshops and public art projects while funds are being raised for the creation of the permanent housing for the project (the ArtMobile).

A source of affordable used box-trucks has been identified, a mechanic is on standby to provide support and maintenance, and a local contractor has signed-on to the project and offered to fully donate the services of his company to repurpose, build-out, and fully customize the ArtMobile at no cost.
