Overview of Idea

HUG Arts Collective, wants to SPARK the change we seek in our community. We plan to set up a month long Art Show "Art Sparks Community -HUB #001" that also acts as a temporary Community HUB. We will host speakers that specialize in community development and hold open meetings to see if there is enough support from the community to start a full-time Community HUB or Community Co-ops.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

There is a HUGE need for a community center or co-op in the Littlerock-Maytown-Rochester area of Western Washington. Unfortunately, there has been no real way (or space) to bring people together and make it happen. By utilizing ART as a SPARK we hope to draw many people together to create the kind of community we all want and can all benefit from.

There will be multiple works of art from the HUG ARTS Collective. In addition we will showcase 2 interactive art installations, “Community Dreams Wall” and “Meta-Currency Brainstorm Board”. From which we will compile vital information from the audience about what they value and what they want to see in their community.

Budget-The Make GOOD Art Grant would fully fund rental costs of $2500, all utilities and running costs including insurance for the month.
Any funds left after that will help pay for photo/video documentation for a promotional brochure, so we can help SPARK HUBs in other needy communities!
