Flint Local 432 is an all-ages, substance free, non-profit music and performance art space located in Downtown Flint, Michigan. We've played host to thousands of local and national bands, and give access to music for local-area youth, who are often excluded from live music due to age restrictions.
We recently re-opened our doors in a new permanent space at 124 W. First Street. We received funding from various sources to help renovate the building so it was up to code and safe to occupy. However, the space is entirely composed of concrete surfaces, which dramatically increase sound level and decrease sound quality. Thus, we need additional funding to build strategic sound dampening in the space in order to improve the overall experience for event attendees. In addition, we currently use conventional tungsten bulb lighting which is very inefficient and expensive to operate for extended periods of times. We hope to secure funding to replace them with a modern LED lighting, thus reducing our carbon foot-print and monthly expenses.
