The Cradle Project is an art installation that calls attention to the nearly 12 million children orphaned and made vulnerable by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Founded by artist and TED Fellow, Naomi Natale in 2008, the project fills two rooms with stunning cradles collected from all corners of the US.
The $5,000 will be donated in its entirety to Firelight Foundation, where it will be used in grantmaking to community-based organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa that focus on the needs of vulnerable children, orphans, and the effects of HIV/AIDS.
