Making a Humdrum Public Space Come Alive with Art!

Overview of Idea

:

We'd like to create colorful, dynamic works of art with local students that would bring pizazz to the sterile brick walls of our local shopping center. The art displayed would cheer shoppers, and inspire sidewalk cafes hosted by the local restaurants and coffee shops. Let's make it happen!

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

Funding would allow us to purchase supplies needed for the works of art, including plywood, canvas, paint, metal, hardware, fixative, and other materials. It would allow us to offer a stipend to art teachers who direct local students on a project that will be displayed in the center, as well as to local artists who create a work of public art. Funding would also allow us to pay for a professional to hang these works securely on the brick surfaces so that they don't come tumbling down!

Thanks for your support everyone! Though we didn't win, we did come close. We pulled together as a community for a great cause. This is just the beginning of an exciting year ahead!

This project would make that space so much more aesthetically pleasing and entice visitors to explore all Chester has to offer. We are not from Chester but our daughter attends school there and this is a great way to visually express the heart of this wonderful community that has really made us feel at home.
