CAREER'S IN CREATIVITY: Solve Social Ills & Compete in a Global Economy

Career’s Day, a FREE event, explores jobs in the Creative Industries by providing workshops led by successful professionals. Also offered are technology demos, valuable art prizes, food, a take-home art project, & network opportunities for education and internships. Education in right brain skills help solve social ills, & help in a global economy.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

Today’s economy in NW Ohio, has stripped artistic education from schools, & shipped jobs overseas. This program helps the area reinvent itself from factory & knowledge workers, to right brain workers innovative & problem solving. We serve all high school students, & lifelong learners needing career planning or diversification.
The $5,000 will pay for:
• Development, printing & dissemination of event packets to
high schools, colleges including catalogs, & flyers
• A public campaign, w/ internet, web registration
• Venue rental & custodial services
• Food
• Posters & signage
• Notebooks, pens, & raffle tickets
• Prizes of software, art supplies, easels, etc.
• Workshop fees & gratuities
• Supplies/teachers for art project

I totally agree that when the schools budgets were threatened, the first thing to go were the arts. I believe anything we can do to promote education and careers in the arts can benefit our community greatly! I have asked everyone to "vote" for the Prism project!

Thanks for the feedback Niki. I know a lot of students benefited with FREE art supplies, TOOLS, new direction, and inspiration. These students are our future, so whatever we can do to help them plan and be successful at preparing for a successful future is important. Also so many people in our area, are reinventing themselves with new opportunities, as we have to position ourselves to compete in a global world. We've received such wonderful feedback from those who participated in our pilot program last year, and hope to be able to make it even better this year. Thanks for your VOTE. We hope this event can be preserved for future students and life-long learners!

I voted! I know my students at Adelante LOVED the Careers in Creativity Fair last year - they said it was one of their favorite events! I hope this event can continue!
