Overview of Idea

The Beads of Courage String of Strength fundraiser brings together participants to create fun and beautiful bracelets, with each bead symbolizing a different positive emotion or wish. Bracelets are given to children coping with serious illness world-wide on the Beads of Courage program.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

The funds from this challenge will allow us to host a large-scale gathering in Tucson – inviting community members to make two bracelets, one to keep in recognition of their own STRENGTH and for having the COURAGE to CARE, and the other to be given randomly to one of the 35,000+ children worldwide on the beads of Courage program. Paying for the beads which will be used, the cord, the packaging, and the postage to ultimately ship the finished bracelets to children in hospitals. $5,000 will be enough to allow over 500 community members to participate in the String of Strength project!
