Art Feeds conducts mobile programs within schools reaching the students directly where they are, to improve mental and emotional wellness, freedom of expression and reduce fear and anxiety through art. The programs provide therapeutic art and creative education free of cost to students and schools.
The program cost is simple: $1 per lesson, per child. $38 sponsors 1 child for the year. Our goal by January 2013 is to reach every student in Joplin- 4,500 children, on a weekly basis. $5,000 will provide 5,000 therapeutic art lessons for the children of Joplin.
Art Feeds strives to cultivate an environment where students are empowered to express themselves, thereby mobilizing creative healing. Students are exposed to painting, drawing, dancing, sculpting, writing, music, photography, performing arts, and more. We use these forms of expression to help the students explore, express and integrate emotional expression through visual, performing and creative arts as well as facilitate healing through cognitive and developmental growth.
